ASDA is bringing a change to every single UK supermarket that will delight shoppers

Supermarket giant ASDA has announced it is launching loyalty cards for shoppers for the first time.

The loyalty club will offer shoppers money off groceries in stores and online.

It will be an upgrade of 'George Rewards' - which incentivises customers who purchase goods from its clothing line.

Details of how it will operate have been kept under wraps, although it's understood that it will not replicate the grocer's Christmas Savings Card which allows shoppers to save and earn cash rewards in the run up to December.

The scheme is likely to be available digitally - via smartphones, reports the Mirror.

An Asda spokesman said: "For over 50 years we’ve driven loyalty with our customers by offering great value and range on the things that matter most to them - and whenever we have anything new to share, we tell them about it first."
