Asda has launched a next day home delivery £30 food box filled with lockdown essentials.
The box contains 31 'store cupboard staples', Asda says, including tins of soup, beans and vegetables as well as bread, pasta, toileteries, longlife milk, coffee, tea and treats.
The boxes will be dispatched to front doors by a third party delivery firm, which Asda says alleviates pressure on its own drivers. The £30 price includes next day delivery in the UK, if ordered by 5pm. Boxes can be ordered on behalf of others and sent to their homes.
Mike Snell, managing director of Asda’s sourcing and procurement arm, IPL, said: “For vulnerable people across the country, staying at home and not being able to make a trip to the supermarket is a difficult prospect.
"At Asda, we’re committed to helping ease the strain on our customers during this time and hope that by offering our food box at an affordable price, we can help to make lives that little bit easier, giving people peace of mind that their cupboards will be well stocked without the stress.”
