Asda has slashed the price of Prosecco to just £5 ahead of Valentine’s Day

Prosecco lovers are in for a treat as Asda has cut the price of the popular fizz in time for the most romantic day of the year.

The supermarket is offering bottles of Prosecco Extra Dry for just £4.97 each instead of their usual price of £6, meaning shoppers will save £1.03.

Asda's Prosecco offer is running until February 14, giving you enough time to snap up a bottle up for Valentine's Day.

The chain currently has around 600 stores in the UK - you can find out your nearest Asda by using the store locator here.

An Asda spokesperson said: “We know Brits are looking for ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day at home.

“We’re pleased to be able to help them to save money and enjoy their favourite fizz for a fraction of the price.”

If you don't manage to get your hands on Asda's cut-price fizz, Lidl is selling a a 75cl bottle of Prosecco for £4.95, while Aldi is also only charging £4.95.

For those who are looking to splash out, Harvey Nichols sells its magnum of Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore for £35 and Marks and Spencer's fancy bottle of Prosecco is priced at £10.

A number of supermarkets are currently offering Valentine's Day meal deals to help shoppers celebrate the romantic occasion at home for less.

This includes Waitrose, which is doing a £20 meal deal that includes venison steak with chocolate butter.

While Sainsbury's Valentine's Day meal deal includes three delicious courses, plus a side and a bottle of wine (or chocolates) for two, for just £20 or under.
