An ASDA driver ripped the roof off their lorry after smashing into a bridge in Falkirk .

Pictures online show the road covered in debris from the wrecked vehicle after it mis-judged the height of the overpass at The Three Bridges roundabout in Camelon.

The top of the van was smashed off, causing part of the side split in two.

The road had been closed by police and motorists were urged to avoid the area. It has since been re-opened.

Nobody was injured in the incident, which took place this afternoon.

A statement on Forth Valley Police Division said: “The road at The Three Bridges roundabout, Camelon, Falkirk, has been closed as lorry has struck a bridge.

“Please avoid the area at this time.”
