Asda customer's life hack for shopping trolleys when you don't have £1

An Asda shopper has discovered an 'amazing' life hack for using shopping trolleys when you don't have a spare £1 coin on you.

It can always be a bit of a pain not having £1 or a token and having to ask the cashier for some spare change.

However, one customer has shared a trick which means you'll never have to be caught out again, Nottinghamshire Live reports .

The customer shared an image of her hack to Twitter, along with the caption: "Life hack if you ain't got a quid for a trolley."

It involves using the circular part of the key to go into the slot where the coin or token usually goes.

This means as long you have a key of this shape, then it should work for your next supermarket trip.

Shoppers took to Twitter to praise her handy life hack, with @booksandbards saying: "This is incredible."

"Hah I do this I dunno how I discovered it!" @reginagorrge said.

A third person added: "Couldn't have told me this yesterday when I had to do a big Aldi shop with nothing but a basket and sheer brute strength."
