Asda customer's handy tip for shopping trolleys when you don't have £1 or a token

When you head to the supermarket to do your weekly shop, sometimes not having £1 or a token can be a pain.

You have to walk to the nearest checkout and beg the cashier to give you change which can be embrassing.

But now, one Asda customer has shared a genius hack to prevent anyone becoming stuck again, involving a house key, reports the Echo.

The customer shared an image of his trick to Twitter. Alongside the image he said: "Life hack if you ain't got a quid for a trolley."

It involves using the circular part of the key to go into the slot where the coin or token usually goes.  Meaning as long as you have a key of this shape and you remember to take it with your during your next supermarket shop then it'll work.

Since sharing his tip, users have praised him for his idea. @booksandbards said: "This is incredible."

@reginagorrge agreed that the tip work, she said: "Hah I do this I dunno how I discovered it!"

Another wished they've learnt sooner, @grendelsmilf said: "couldn't have told me this yesterday when I had to do a big Aldi shop with nothing but a basket and sheer brute strength."
