Asda have been slammed by online shoppers for sharing a picture of a model wearing bra and pants which critics claim are “too small”.
The supermarket giant posted an image of one of it’s plus-size models sporting lingerie that “doesn’t fit”, according to commentators.
Olivia Campbell, who can be seen showing off the lacy underwear, describes herself as a ‘baddie with a belly’ who is ‘here to help you fall in love with yourself’.
The model regularly features on Asda’s social media and is often praised for helping improve attitudes towards positive body image.
However, this time she fell victim to critics on Instagram, who criticised the supermarket for giving her the wrong size of clothing, according to Manchester Evening News.
jdbem slammed: “no no no no - it’s lovely lingerie but it just does not fit this beautiful girl !! Please dress your models in sizes that actually fit, look at the bra ??? It must be so uncomfortable and as for the briefs, good god”
judygirl1958 said: “The bra is too big on her.”
jackiejrhadley said: “Can’t imagine what sort of VPL you might get with those knickers.”
gemmahoward87 wrote: “Yeah great but it doesn’t fit!!”
While the fashion police were out in full force, Olivia, who actually wore the lingerie herself, says that she ‘can’t recommend the set enough’.
A spokesperson for ASDA said: “The new George lingerie campaign highlights a positive message around both diversity and inclusion.
“We strongly believe that people from all walks of life should be represented equally and do not tolerate abusive comments directed towards any group of people including those featured on our social media channels.”
