Asda confirms update for all NHS and emergency workers with Blue Light Card

NHS workers and emergency workers can grab a discount on their shop in Asda.

Asda has been offering emergency workers 10 percent off their shop for Blue Light Card holders and has announced they are extending the deal.

The discount was put in place to help those working on the frontline during the pandemic over Christmas and was originally set to end at the start of January. It then was pushed to January 31 and now has been extended further until the end of next month.

Asda and Blue Light Card have confirmed that the discount that stretches across all stores will be running until Monday February 28.

On the Light Blue Card app, it states: "ASDA. Offer extended for February. Please note from February 1, the offer will exclude beers, wines and spirits.

The discount is available in all Asda's 633 stores across the UK until 11.59pm February 28 2022 and includes food and soft drinks, George at Asda clothing and home wear, toys gifts and optical.

Blue Light card holders can receive the discount by presenting their card to a member of staff at the checkout or self-service area.

Please note that you may be asked to provide additional ID when redeeming the Asda offer in-store. This is to ensure that only eligible members receive the discount.

Accepted forms for secondary ID include anything with your name on including a bank card, driving licence or passport."

The extension has been flagged on popular Facebook group UK Couponing and Bargains.

Thousands of people were commenting, highlighting that only the card holder can use it, not a family member or friend.
