Members of Priestfield Senior Citizens group in Blantyre were celebrating last week after being given a whopping donation of £775 from the town’s Asda store.
The funds were donated for the senior citizens’ annual Christmas lunch and came from the Asda Foundation Local Impact Fund.
It supports smaller initiatives in the community and Gillian Dillon, ASDA store manager, was delighted to hand over the latest charity cheque to the senior citizens at the June Stewart Centre, High Blantyre.
Gillian said: “Well done to everybody involved for securing this wonderful sum.”
Blantyre Asda recently also presented a grant for £714 to Blantyre Vics Football Club’s 2007 squad and a further £610 to youth centre Terminal One.
