Asda and Tesco recall cereal bars over salmonella fears

Asda and Tesco are each recalling one of its own-brand products due to the possible presence of Salmonella.

Tesco are pulling its Apricot Almond and Yogurt Bars from sale whilst Asda's urgent recall is for its Cranberry and Nut Cereal Bars and Peanut and Almond Cereal Bars.

The products have been removed from sale according to the Food Standards Agency who issue recalls on products that should not be sold.

Both alerts state that the recall has been made as a precautionary measure.

Customers are being advised to not consumer the products and return the affected products to your nearest store where a full refund will be given.

If you are infected with the bacteria, symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.
