Asda 30p item to completely get rid of spiders from your home

An everyday household item that costs just 30p could completely get rid of spiders from your home.

Massive spiders are slowly working their way indoors as temperatures start to drop ahead of autumn. But there are ways that you can ensure that you can try to keep them out of your home - and it could cost you just 30p.

Lemon is a handy tool to keep them away - and you can get them from Tesco. According to SFgate, spiders have sensors on their legs that help them smell and taste, BirminghamLive reports.

This is one reason repellents are effective with spiders -- they reach out toward the repellent with their front legs, then back up before getting their bodies close to the irritating smell.

Lemon is one of the smells spiders tend to avoid, making it a good choice for use as a repellent. To make a simple lemon spider repellent, fill a 1 quart spray bottle with water and add 1 tablespoon of lemon essential oil - a natural essential oil, not a synthetic version. Shake it up to mix well.

You can use the spray indoors along windowsills, pipes and other openings spiders might use, but when using in your garden, be prepared to reapply the spray often. You must apply every time it rains because the repellent gets washed away, but in periods of drought, plan to apply at least every two weeks.

Spray the repellent around the perimeter of your garden. If you outline the garden with items such as pavers or bricks, spray them liberally. Look for ways spiders might enter your garden and spray those areas, such as where the flowerbed meets the foundation of your house. Creating a continuous line of repellent for best results.
