ASAP Rocky Disses Drake Over Rihanna Drama In New Album

ASAP Rocky recently called out Drake for his apparent lingering feelings towards Rihanna. The diss was delivered on April 12 through Future and Metro Boomin’s album, We Still Don’t Trust You. In his verse on the track 'Show of Hands,' Rocky seemed to mock Drake for still being emotionally attached to Rihanna, referencing her as the 'baddest' and implying he had been romantically involved with her before Drake.

Rocky's lyrics also took a jab at Drake's recent album, For All The Dogs, suggesting that it had a short-lived impact. The rapper highlighted his history with Rihanna, dating back to their collaboration on a remix of her song 'Cockiness' in 2012. Following Rihanna's split from Hassan Jameel in 2020, she and Rocky reportedly deepened their relationship and now share two sons.

Drake's public declaration of love for Rihanna at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards was referenced in Rocky's verse. Despite Drake's affectionate words, their relationship ended shortly after. Rihanna later clarified in a Vogue interview that while they were not friends, they also weren't enemies.

Drake's response to the situation came in the form of his song 'Fear of Heights,' where he dismissed any insinuations that he was still hung up on Rihanna. He also made references to Rihanna's album Anti and expressed dissatisfaction with their past intimacy.

The We Don't Trust You albums have become a platform for rappers to criticize Drake. Kendrick Lamar, on the first LP, rejected J. Cole's claim that he, Lamar, and Drake were the 'Big 3' of hip-hop. Lamar also questioned Drake's self-comparisons to Michael Jackson and made provocative remarks about his musical legacy.
