Asamoah Gyan sends message to Sunderland supporters amid start of coaching badges

Former Sunderland forward Asamoah Gyan has sent a message of well wishes to Sunderland supporters following the start of his coaching badges.

The 36-year-old looks to embark on his own career away from his playing days, seeking his UEFA B licence at the Wales' Football Association.

Spending two seasons here in the north east, Gyan scored an impressive 10 goals in 34 appearances and will be remember for his wild celebrations along the way.

Last featuring for Ghanaian side Legon Cities back in 2021, the former Al Ain striker has since made his feelings clear towards those adoring Black Cats supporters abundantly clear.

"Say hi to the Sunderland fans, I miss them and I guess that's life. Hopefully I will see you guys in the future," said Gyan on social media most recently, as he wished Arizona based coach Ged Quinn well in his own endeavours.

Famously dancing at Stamford Bridge with Bolo Zenden back in 2010, Gyan established his own cult hero status, helping Sunderland finish 10th under then boss Steve Bruce, netting 10 goals along the way.

Departing for the UAE just a year later, the former Rennes forward still hopes to return to the game despite not yet retiring, having been linked with Ghanaian side Asante Kotoko most recently.
