After more than a 100 days in lockdown, the coronavirus pandemic has led to split ends, grown-out roots and for many men - wayward sideburns.
Hairdressers and barbers shops were not allowed to open in England from mid-March when the country went into lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Salons were finally able to open their doors last weekend for the first time subject to a range of restrictions.
Customers were limited as a result of social distancing, hand sanitiser was brought in with screens and masks and visor for hairdressers to protect them, along with gloves.
All salons insist that customers wear face coverings, with many taking people's temperatures as they enter salons.
At the weekend, there were reports of long queues outside many walk-in barbers.
Some salon owners said that once they opened their books for appointments, they were inundated with requests.
At some salons, they opened to the public at midnight on Saturday to accommodate the demand. Or they stayed open late all week so they could fit in their eager customers.
Reah Miller went from straggly rat's tails hair to smoothed locks after her lockdown hair cut - and dye.
She said: "Thank god I got mine done."

Carla Richards took her son for a trim after his hair grew to collar length during more than 100 days of lockdown. He looks mightily relieved in the after picture as he enjoys a drink.
She said: "My gorgeous boy, it was his birthday Sunday too so he was so happy to get his hair done by his barber, Howards Barbershop is the best barbers."

And Lauryn Gallagher shared her before and after shot of her hair cut. Her hair was transformed from a ginger frizz to blonde bouncy curls.
She said: "Before and after yesterday."

Ashley Dingle was completely shorn after having his lockdown locks cut off, leaving quite an impressive pile of hair cuttings on the floor after his cut.

And Hellen Wilkin got rid of her dark roots an grown-out blonde hair by having purple colour put through her hair, which was styled into a curly bouncy do.

She said: "On the right is new hair! I love it."
And after the struggles of lockdown, a new hair style will make many people feel a little better.
