As Met Eireann issue rain weather WARNING for counties in Ireland, here's the outlook for Dublin on Thursday

Thursday will be mostly cloudy in the capital with outbreaks of rain and drizzle.

There will be heavy bursts at times but that will be matched with good dry intervals with top temperatures reaching between 14 and 21 degrees.

The night time will continue to be cloudy with further outbreaks of rain and drizzle.

There will be some hill and coastal fog too but it will stay rather mild and humid with lowest temperatures of 12 to 14 degrees.

The Irish Mirror reports that the west and northwest will be lashed by "persistent" rain today as Met Eireann issued a Status Yellow rainfall warning.

Met Eireann issued the warning for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo at 2pm yesterday and it will remain in place until midnight on Thursday.

The west and north west are at risk of flooding, with coastal areas and hills to be the worst affected areas. 

A forecast said: "For the rest of Wednesday and all of Thursday, persistent and occasionally heavy rain at times with a risk of localised flooding.
