As Britain set for '16-day heatwave' - here's what Met Eireann forecasts for Ireland's June

The UK is set to bask in 20C sunshine for 16 days straight in June/July according to Accuweather, while Ireland looks likely to boast changeable conditions throughout.

Although rain is forecast at regular intervals for Ireland in June, there is no shortage of sunshine amongst early predictions, with lowest temperatures of 15C and highs of 21C.

Accuweather predicts that within the first week of June, Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd will be sunny with some cloud in areas across the East and Southeast, before a return to unsettled conditions.

Meanwhile, Met Eireann predictions specify “drier weather to the south and east of Ireland” and “unsettled conditions in the west and north” that week.

Current forecasts predict the sun will return on June 10th across the country, just in time for the weekend - and will remain until the following Tuesday with highs of 16C.

Met Eireann’s confidence in predictions past this date are ‘low’ however they have said indications show “dry and potentially sunny weather with near normal temperatures.”

Accuweather’s further extended predictions show that week three in June will see a lot of rainfall, however temperatures will be up to 20C with some sunshine forecast to break up the rain on June 17th.

From the 20th - 26th early indications show some great sunshine on the way, with a chance of thunder and lightning on the 24th - despite this temperatures are set to be between 18-21C throughout.

The best of the weather will reportedly arrive at the very end of the month for the east of the country, with five days straight of sunshine from the 27th June - 1st July with temperatures remaining in the high teens.

However, according to these early forecasts, the west will experience stormy conditions with high levels of rainfall in the same period.
