Lockdown forced parents into home-schooling their children after their schools closed down amid the coronavirus pandemic.
However, while some parents couldn't wait to get their little cherubs back through the school gates - others have decided to keep on home schooling their children.
According to research by Childcare.co.uk, a quarter of UK parents are shunning schools and continuing to home-school their children even after lockdown.
While there are benefits to teaching at home, there are also drawbacks - but whatever your views, the practice is nothing new and some celebrities swear by home-schooling.
1. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes
Both Cruise's eldest children, Connor and Isabella, from his marriage to Nicole Kidman were home-schooled so when he had a daughter, Suri with third wife Katie Holmes, the couple made the decision to have her taught at home too.
However following the couple's split, it has been reported that Katie enrolled Suri into a school in New York.
2. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith
The couple's two children Jayden and Willow were both home-schooled after the coupe spoke to other home schooling parents and felt inspired. Both kids have also enjoyed careers in the entertainment industry from a young age with Jaden appearing alongside his famous dad in two movies and Willow has enjoyed some pop success.
3. Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin
Before 'consciously uncoupling' this pair were big on education for their children. As well as sending Apple and Moses to private school, the couple apparently also paid for home-schooling on weekends.
4. Jennifer Lopez
While twins Emme and Max are enrolled at an private school, when their superstar mama is travelling for work she removes them and reportedly home-schools them with help from a qualified tutor.
5. Emma Thompson
The English actress's daughter Gaia was enrolled in private school but she removed her when she was 15 because she was unhappy with formal educaltion.
The Sense and Sensibility actress transformed her garden into a classroom for Gaia and according to reports the teenager much preferred her new school environmment.
6. Mayim Bailik
The Big Bang Theory star decided to home-school her two sons with husband Michael Stone in order to allow flexibility around their hectic work schedules.
7. Billy Ray Cyrus
Country singer Billy Rae Cyrus and wife Tish home-schooled their daughter Miley duE to her full time work schedule when she was starring in Hannah Montana for Disney.
8. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt
The now divorced couple made the decision to home school all six of their children, with the help of qualified tutors. Being two of the busiest parents in showbiz, it's easy to see why teaching at home and on the move was the easiest option.
9. Michael Jackson
Before his death in 2009, fiercely private Michael Jackson home schooled his three children. However after his death they gradually began to enrol into mainstream schools and have flourished.
10. Kris and Caitlyn Jenner
The Jenners' youngest daughters Kendal and Kylie were taught at home from a young age on account of the family's meteoric rise to fame. After they began filming Keeping Up with the Kardashians it made even more sense to hire tutors to come to the house, rather than send the girls off to school. Both are now successful models and entrepreneurs so it obviously paid off.
