Aryna Sabalenka vs Zheng Qinwen live: French Open latest score and updates before Swiatek in action

The French Open quarter-finals get underway with a blockbuster day of action at Roland Garros.

World No 1 Aryna Sabalenka opens proceedings in a highly intriguing battle of big-hitters against Zheng Qinwen, who triumphed on the Paris clay last summer to secure Olympic gold but is still chasing her maiden grand slam title. Victory over the top seed, who has looked in ominous touch so far, would be a real statement. The pair’s last-eight encounter will be followed by Iga Swiatek’s return to action as the Pole chases a fourth successive title here - Elina Svitolina is her opponent after Swiatek overcame an Elena Rybakina blitz in the fourth round.

Later, it will be the turn of the men on Court Philippe-Chatrier, with Lorenzo Musetti and Frances Tiafoe in a tasty tussle and Carlos Alcaraz headlining the night session looking to avoid the dangers posed by Tommy Paul as he continues his title defence.
