Teenage winger Arvin Appiah has completed a move from Nottingham Forest to Almeria.
The 18-year-old has signed for the Spanish side in a deal understood to be worth in the region of £8m, with the La Liga 2 side confirming the switch.
Appiah is also said to have been on the radar of Premier League giants Manchester United, and Almeria reported his arrival by tweeting: “We are sorry @ManUtd_ES, Arvin Appiah is red and white.”
The youngster has put pen to paper on a five-year deal.
Appiah came up through the ranks at the Nigel Doughty Academy and made eight appearances for the first-team.
He made his breakthrough last season, scoring on his debut when he came off the bench in the 3-2 League Cup defeat at Burton Albion last October.
However, he featured just once under Sabri Lamouchi during the current campaign, in the 1-0 Carabao Cup win over Fleetwood Town at the City Ground.
In total, he has made eight appearances in the Garibaldi.
A statement from Forest read: “Nottingham Forest can confirm that forward Arvin Appiah has left the club to join Spanish side UD Almeria.
“The 18-year-old made his first-team debut last season, going on to make eight appearances for The Reds but now departs for an undisclosed fee.
“The club would like to thank Arvin for his time at the club and wish him well for the future.”
Appiah could be one of several players to leave Trentside today as the transfer window closes for Leagues One and Two and a number of leagues across Europe.
Midfielder Liam Bridcutt is also understood to be one of those heading elsewhere, with a loan switch to Bolton Wanderers looking likely.
