Forty artists and creators opened up their studios across Lake Macquarie this weekend to provide a glimpse into their life behind their art.
The initiative was Lake Mac Open Studios, where 20 locations across the city were open for the public to meet the artists and even take part in some creativity of their own.
Dudley's Amanda Donohue opened up her print and textiles studio on the weekend, which was the first time she had taken part in the annual event.
"I hadn't done Open Studios before, but I had spoken to others who had, and they said it was a good way to connect with people who might not otherwise be aware of what you do or even that you exist," she said.
"I started teaching printmaking about 10 years ago and thought this was a good chance to get some exposure in the local community."
Ms Donohue held a talk about printmaking and ran a short workshop on fabric printing with some fabric dying in between.
"It was busy," she said.
"Most people were really interested to find out more about the different techniques, artforms and mediums being practiced."
The event continues on Sunday. A map and information about each artist is available at lakemac.com.au/Events-directory/Council-events/Lake-Mac-Open-Studios
