Artist who spent $100,000 on Charlie Kirk sculpture struggling to find buyer

  • New York sculptor Sergio Furnari is struggling to sell a $100,000 life-size statue of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk , which he funded himself.
  • Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA , was shot dead on September 10, 2025, at Utah Valley University, an event that moved Furnari to create the monument.
  • Furnari stated his motivation was not political alignment but to commemorate free speech, support Kirk's widow, and honor a person and moment.
  • An online fundraiser set up by Furnari to recoup his material costs has only raised $8,225, leading him to express frustration over the lack of financial support.
  • If the statue remains unsold, Furnari intends to display it in Times Square on September 10, the one-year anniversary of Kirk's death.
