Artist Aspencrow has turned Cara Delevingne into a Medusa sculpture

Cara Delevingne has been transformed into Medusa for a sculpture by artist Aspencrow.

The “hyper realistic” 50kg work, made of resin and silicon, took six months to make.

He chose Delevingne for being “one of the best known faces in the world” and as “she does what she wants”, according to gallery owner Jean-David Malat.

It is on display at the JD Malat Gallery in Mayfair and is valued at £30,000.

Aspencrow — whose real name is Edgar Askelovic — is known for his celebrity-inspired artworks. Last year, he created a life-size statue of Conor McGregor to give the fighter for his 30th birthday — a piece with an estimated worth of £50,000.

The Lithuanian artist also created a nude sculpture of singer Rihanna, covered in Jean-Michel Basquiat-inspired body paint, to mark the musician turning 30.

David Bowie and Amy Winehouse have also featured in Aspencrow's sculpture collection.
