Arthur's Seat rescue operation as one person rushed to hospital after sledging

A person was taken to hospital on Wednesday after an accident on Arthur's Seat.

The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed a "range of resources" were sent to the scene after reports a person had suffered injuries on Arthur's Seat.

Witnesses reported that the person was injured whilst playing in the snow on the hill.

Confirming the incident, a spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 15:23 to attend an incident at Arthurs Seat, Edinburgh.

They added: "A range of resources were sent to the scene and the patient was conveyed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.”

Locals have been urged to take care if they are heading out after the capital was blanketed in snow during Storm Darcy.

Many took to the hills to enjoy a welcome snow day, with groups seen sledging and playing throughout the day.

A yellow warning remains in place, with forecasters warning accumulated snow and frozen patches could cause injury and disruption.
