Arthur's Seat incident: Police Scotland confirm 'unsuspicious' death of 58-year-old man

Police Scotland have issued a statement about the discovery of a body found at Salisbury Crags on Thursday afternoon.

The incident sparked a major emergency service presence at Arthur's Seat and Holyrood Park on Thursday 27 August.

Now police have confirmed the death of a 58-year-old man and that a post mortem examination is set to take place.

Police Scotland said: "Around 1.20pm on Thursday, 27 August, 2020, police were called after the body of a 58-year-old man was discovered on Salisbury Crags, Queen's Drive, Edinburgh.

"A post mortem examination will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death, however there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances at this time.
