Arteta's big decision to realise Champions League dream as Arsenal find Saliba's perfect partner

Here is your Arsenal morning digest for Tuesday, May 26.

Meet Wesley Fofana, the defender Arsenal are desperate to sign this summer

The summer transfer window will herald the arrival of William Saliba from Saint-Etienne, but it would appear the club are eager to sign his defensive partner too, according to reports.

French outlet But! Football Club, via Sport Witness, is claiming that Wesley Fofana is on the Gunners’ radar, and could be heading to the Emirates alongside Saliba.

The same report claims Everton are interested in the defender, who has said privately he is happy to remain in Ligue 1 for one more year before embarking on a new adventure in England.

Arsenal might have the perfect chance to sign a Mesut Ozil successor thanks to Raul Sanllehi

Arsenal’s interest in Philippe Coutinho is no secret.

According to Le10 Sport, the club have already begun planning talks with the player, who Mikel Arteta is desperate to land.

Although it is looking unlikely that the club will be able to sell Mesut Ozil, with the German set to see out his contract - which expires in 2021 - that hasn’t stopped them planning for the future.

Alex Keble has written a wonderfully insightful piece on how the 27-year-old can serve as Ozil’s successor at the Emirates, and you can read it here.

The Gunners boss has been a revelation since arriving at the Emirates, with his attractive brand of football a welcome change from the uncertainty that was Unai Emery.

The club are blessed to have such a strong forward line with the likes of Alex Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang the club’s greatest chance of making the top four.

How Arteta fits all of the pieces into the same attack has been a point of discussion for fans for weeks. Now Art De Roche has looked to settle the debate once and for all.
