Artemis Fowl and the Lost Colony by Eoin Colfer - review

Artemis Fowl and the Lost Colony is a witty and action-packed book that draws you in and keeps you reading.

It turns out that Artemis Fowl is not the only child genius in the world and certainly not the only one that knows about the People. Both Artemis and Minerva Paradizo can calculate where the demons will drop into our land, but only Minerva has managed to capture one. If the demon is revealed to humanity it could be catastrophic for the People. Meanwhile the spell keeping the entire demon population off earth is unravelling…Will Artemis be able to rescue the demon and save the People?

The language is used well. Colfer always manages to get his point across in a variety of interesting ways. I like the way that, instead of you just following Artemis and meeting new characters when he meets them, you follow the paths of all the characters until they meet.

I found this book interesting and un-put-down-able. The situations Colfer sets up are realistic and the characters' actions are understandable which helped me to really connect with the story. With lots of plot twists and life-like characters I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for an exciting and imaginative novel.
