Artem Lobov set to make MMA return in France this weekend

SBG star Artem Lobov is set to make a return to MMA this weekend after a move to bare knuckle boxing last year.

The Russian Hammer is back in the cage in France on Saturday evening, taking on Ylies Djiroun on the Arena Fight Championship 2 card.

The 34-year-old will fight for the AFC lightweight title in Marsiglia, France, after signing a one fight deal with the promotion back in September.

Lobov rose to fame in 2015 after an impressive run in UFC's The Ultimate fighter under Conor McGregor's tutelage - earning a contract with the promotion.

He's targeting his first MMA win since November 2016, but hasn't fought in over two years after an ultimately disappointing 2-4 UFC career.

However, Lobov has been active since his UFC release - fighting three times with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship last year.

He enjoyed a debut win against Jason Knight before defeating former boxer Paul Malignaggi in a grudge match last summer.

His last fight with the promotion saw him taste defeat in a rematch with Knight, losing by knockout in the fifth round.
