Art students: put your work on show on the Guardian

Here at Guardian Students, we aim to provide a platform for a wide range of student voices. Students use our Blogging Students section to talk about everything from school feminist societies to spiked drinks, university counselling and student drug-dealing.

But we know that not all students are writers by nature. While they have plenty to say, they don’t want to express it through carefully crafted blogs.

Some prefer to paint, sing, draw, film, dance, record, recite, invent, experiment, photograph, yell.

That’s why we’re launching Students Express – a new way for students to send us their work through platforms including GuardianWitness, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

We’ll be inviting submissions around a variety of themes and plan to compile some of the best ones into galleries and articles on the Guardian site.

Hopefully the topics we come up with will appeal to everyone eventually: art students, science boffins, philosophers, architects, poets, activists, entrepreneurs…

To kick things off, we’re inviting you to share photographs of your artwork for your end of year shows. Whether you’re doing art for A-level or you’re exhibiting in a degree show, we’d love to see what you’ve produced in any of the arty disciplines: sculpture, fashion, painting, illustration, graphics, textiles, animation, model-making, printing and any others we’ve not thought of. Like photography. And film.

Submit your work through GuardianWitness - it’s really straightforward. You can share your art by clicking on the blue ‘Contribute’ button on this article. You can also use the GuardianWitness smartphone app or the Guardian app and search for ‘GuardianWitness assignments’ – and if you add it to the homepage – you can keep up with all our assignments. If you’re on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram you can share your art using #guardianstudents.

Alongside your entry, let us know your name, degree subject and university. Please submit no more than two pieces of artwork each.

  • GuardianWitness is the home of readers’ content on the Guardian. Contribute your video, pictures and stories, and browse news, reviews and creations submitted by others.
