Number 1 Gallery presents "The Universe of Us", which will open a door to the world of imagination from Sunday to Nov 28.
This is the first solo show with the gallery by Ladakorn Puangbubpha, an award-winning artist reputed for mastering her etching techniques on a copper plate to narrate beautiful stories. Her works are inspired by her loved ones and often portray their bonds, with beautiful plants and imaginative creatures in the background.
For this exhibition, she imagined the time spent with her loved ones. This inspired her to create art in a space that integrates various plants, animals and objects to render surreal feelings.
This is reflected in 1379 Town from the 1379 series whose colour tones, shapes and atmosphere can be compared to a magical door that invites everyone to step into another land that is both fascinating and exciting. For the artist, this experience is part of living and a happy co-existence.
Ladakorn earned a master's of fine arts in visual arts from Silpakorn University. She has exhibited locally and internationally including in Armenia, Bulgaria, Poland and Japan. She won an outstanding award from the 35th "PTT Art Competition" in 2020 and, this year, won the first prize from the 10th White Elephant Art Award.
Number 1 Gallery is on Silom 21 and opens Monday to Saturday from 11am to 7pm.
