Arson investigation underway after two children evacuated from house fire

Police are investigating a suspected arson attack after two children had to be evacuated from a house in Carmarthen.

The incident happened at a property on Ash Grove in the town on Monday night.

The exact nature of the fire is unknown, but it was started at and confined to the front door of the house.

One adult and two children were evacuated from the property, and it’s understood that nobody suffered any injuries.

Police officers and firefighters arrived at the property shortly before 10pm on Monday night, and the fire had been extinguished by the time of their arrival., with fire crews from Carmarthen remaining at the property until around 11.45pm.

A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “We are investigating a suspected arson at a home in Ash Grove Carmarthen at around 9.45pm on Monday night (April 20).

“House to house enquiries have been conducted in the area, but anyone with any information that could help the investigation is urged to contact police on 101.”

The investigation is continuing, and police say that nobody has been arrested in connection with the incident.
