Police have launched an investigation after a two people were seen setting fire to a large pile of timber in Wigan .
This led to a huge blaze at McVeigh Parker timber yard, on Park Lane Industrial Estate in Ashton-in-Makefield.
Fire crews spent nearly six hours battling the blaze and more than 40 firefighters were called to the scene.

Police were forced to close junction 25 of the northbound M6 on Monday morning after smoke drifted onto the road.
Fortunately nobody was injured.
A white vehicle was seen in the area at the time of the fire.
