Arsene Wenger takes cheeky dig at Tottenham after Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp claims award

Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has congratulated Jurgen Klopp on Liverpool's last minute winner against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday.

Spurs conceded with just seconds remaining at Anfield in a top of the table clash through a Roberto Firmino header, wit the Reds leapfrogging Jose Mourinho 's side into first-place with the three points.

It was a great two days for Klopp - who was named as the Best FIFA Men's Coach for the second successive year on Thursday evening.

The German coach guided Liverpool to their first-ever Premier League title earlier in the year, following on from a fantastic 2019; where he brought a sixth Champions League trophy to Anfield.

Goal could change Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's season

Arsenal legend Wenger was the man responsible of announcing the winner of the award - and he couldn't miss a perfect opportunity to aim a dig at Spurs.

“You have two really great days! Last night, you win in the last minute and today you win the best coach of the year, congratulations!”

Things aren't going so well for Wenger's old club at the moment, though, with the Gunners suffering their worst start to a league campaign in 46 years.

Mikel Arteta 's team ended their home losing streak on Wednesday evening, but they could only manage a draw with Southampton at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal are back in Premier League action on Saturday evening as they make the difficult trip to Everton - who have now won back-to-back games in the Premier League against Chelsea and Leicester City.

A win for the Gunners could see them move into 13th-place, as they try to force themselves up the table following their slow start to the campaign.
