Arsene Wenger speaks out on Manchester United fans' anti-Glazer protests

Arsene Wenger has questioned whether the Manchester United fans protesting against the Glazers represent a majority of supporters.

United 's home match against Liverpool was postponed after thousands of fans protested outside at Old Trafford, twice breaking into the stadium to voice their discontent on the pitch.

As a result, the Premier League called the match off after initially delayed kick-off, with fans also surrounding the Lowry Hotel where United's players were based.

Reacting to the biggest protest in recent English football history, Wenger questioned whether the actions of United supporters represented a majority of fans, although he did condemn the Super League proposals which sparked the mass outrage.

“First of all you always have to know whether this is the majority," Wenger told beIN SPORTS.

"We live in a society where the protesters aren’t always the majority. The media only consider the minority of protesters.

“I would say as a football fan I was against the Super League project because it ignores what makes football great.”

Upon the decision to postpone the game, Manchester United released a club statement which said: "Our fans are passionate about Manchester United, and we completely acknowledge the right to free expression and peaceful protest.

"However, we regret the disruption to the team and actions which put other fans, staff, and the police in danger.

"We thank the police for their support and will assist them in any subsequent investigations."
