Arsene Wenger says Liverpool can't win the Premier League title as legendary boss gives 'impossible' verdict

Legendary manager Arsene Wenger believes it's "impossible" for Liverpool to retain the Premier League title this season.

It's been a difficult title defence for Jurgen Klopp's side, who swept to glory last term for their first league triumph since 1990.

This time around Liverpool have already lost five games, conceding 29 goals along the way.

And with Manchester City on a historic winning streak Wenger believes it's all over for the Anfield club.

Asked on BeIN Sports if Liverpool are still in the race the Arsenal legend replied: “No.

“I don’t think so, because Man City are 10 points ahead, they have one game in hand, they look to be on a run.

“I don’t think with 14 games to go you can catch 13 points to the top team.

“I’ve never seen 13 points (made up). If it was eight or nine, yes.

“If Man City win their game in hand 13 points is impossible.”

Wenger won three Premier League titles with Arsenal, including a famous invincible campaign in 2003-04.
