Arsene Wenger makes Erling Haaland prediction after Liverpool transfer links

Arsene Wenger has backed Erling Haaland to move to England amid reported interest from Liverpool.

The Borussia Dortmund striker has become one of the most sought after players across Europe, and is likely to be in demand in the future.

Haaland joined Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in January last year, and has already scored 63 goals in 64 matches.

His form has led pretty much all of the top clubs from across Europe to be linked with signing the Norway international.

Former Arsenal boss Wenger, who is now chief of global football development at FIFA, has outlined why a move to Liverpool for Haaland may be possible.

Wenger believes that Haaland will move to England at some point, and why the “power of the Premier League” makes that likely.

“I think that will happen [a move to England],” Wenger is quoted telling Bild, via Metro.

“The economic power of the Premier League is too strong.

“English football is dominant because it is where the most money is. The best players always go the best way to make the most money.

“Haaland is likely to be the next high-profile goalscorer after Mbappe. He’s a super talent.

“His ambition, his will to score goals and the ability to fight in a duel [set him apart].

“He’s there and wants to win, there is something in him that is great for a striker.”
