Arsene Wenger has labelled Manchester United a "dream job" for any manager and says just four new signings would turn them back into world-beaters.
The legendary Arsenal boss was surprisingly complimentary about the Red Devils, who he was at loggerheads for most of his career managing in the Premier League.
He spoke passionately about the Old Trafford club, who are struggling under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, saying they are closer to glory than most people think.
"Manchester United is a dream job for any manager," Wenger told beIN Sports.
"At least, any manager with courage and confidence. Yes, they need – in my opinion – four first-team players. But around those players, I see a squad that is capable of challenging.

"They aren't as far away as people think.
"The team have no pattern of play, no pattern of pressing. There is a team there, but it needs to be coached and developed. Like I said, four players and they can be challengers. For everything.
"Like I said, Manchester United is a dream job. For any coach. I have confidence, I have courage… and you're right, I have ideas."

Wenger has been out of the game since standing down at the Emirates at the conclusion of the 2018 season.
Since then he has dropped hints about returning to football management and has even received job offers to do so, but Wenger is yet to put pen to paper with a new club.
