Saint-Etienne defender William Saliba has completed his move to Arsenal after the Gunners saw off competition from Tottenham Hotspur in the defender.
The 18-year-old will now head back to France for another season on loan before becoming a first team player for the 2020/21 season.
Spurs had tried to hijack a deal to sign the talented centre-back but Saliba has explained the decision was not hard to make given his affection for Arsenal as a childhood fan of the club.
"Well, the history, the badge," he said when asked about his choice in an interview with the club's official website
"Since I was little, I've been watching Arsenal play in the Champions League and so on, and there are a lot of French players who have come through here.

"So that really helped me to make my mind up."
Arsenal fans have been reacting to the latest signing with many crediting the work by former manager Arsene Wenger in helping the club secure the youngster.
It has been revealed the club were tracking Saliba under Wenger and Gunners supporters have been keen to credit his past work in the transfer market.
Wenger won three Premier League titles during his 22-year spell as manager, reinventing the club's image in the modern game.
