Arsene Wenger gives his verdict on Maurizio Sarri's biggest problem at Chelsea

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes Chelsea’s biggest issue this season is a lack of pace and goals.

The Blues hold the advantage in the top-four race heading into the final two matchdays against Watford and Leicester City, where two victories will seal their spot in next season’s Champions League.

Maurizio Sarri’s side also have Europa League glory as a potential avenue into Europe’s elite competition next season, as they prepare for a semi-final double-header against Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt, but consistency has been an issue this season.

According to Wenger, who is on a break from football after ending two decades with Arsenal last summer, the biggest problem for Sarri this season has been a lack of goals - and he believes that needs to be rectified in order for the Italian boss to get the best from his side.

Man City fans will love chant from Chelsea supporters mocking Manchester United

“For Sarri it is his first season in England and he certainly likes a game of possession and I think overall his team has good possession but they lack goals,” he told BeIn Sports.

“If you compare the possession they have, which in every game is always around 70%, and the number of goals they score, I think that don’t have enough players who can go behind the defenders, not enough pace to take advantage.

“Hazard has to come deep and make a difference on his own sometimes.”

How Arsenal's defeat at Leicester impacts the top four battle with Spurs, Chelsea and Man United
