Arsene Wenger dismisses 'fake news' links with AC Milan job

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has dismissed reports that he is to become the new AC Milan manager, calling the rumours "fake news".

Reports in the French press this week claimed Wenger was in advanced talks to take over from Gennaro Gattuso at the Italian club, who already trail Juventus by 10 points in Serie A.

Wenger has been taking a break from coaching since leaving Arsenal at the end of last season, but has said he will return to work at the start of the New Year.

Ex-Gunners chief executive Ivan Gazidis will take up his post as Milan’s new CEO in December, but Wenger insisted he will not be joining his former colleague.

"The only thing I can say is it's fake news," Wenger said on BeIN Sports. "If I had signed somewhere I would tell you. It's wrong news.

"I cannot master the rumours, I can only master what I do in my life."
