Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has backed Liverpool to beat the Gunners' unbeaten record of 49 matches.
Jurgen Klopp's men are top of the Premier League after 26 games as they lead nearest rivals Manchester City by 22 points.
The Merseyside team are now also 43 matches unbeaten and have just seven games to go to overhaul the record set by Arsenal under Wenger.
Arsenal went unbeaten during the 2003/04 season before a loss at Manchester United ended the streak in the following campaign.
Wenger has now explained why he believes Liverpool can edge past that feat seat by his old Gunners team.
"They are doing exceptionally well," Wenger told Sporf. "They put a team together that is very efficient, very consistent and has good fighting qualities as well, so let’s see.
"The records are there to be beaten and they can do it."
Former Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann, though, also recently said that Liverpool have been lucky to get to 43 matches unbeaten in the Premier League.
"If they do it we will congratulate, but we will see," he said. "Liverpool has done, I think, lucky spells already, but it’s probably because they worked harder than the other ones. If they keep going they deserve it, but it’s a long way."
