Arsene Wenger thinks it's 'impossible' for Liverpool to catch Manchester City this season and has backed Pep Guardiola's side for the Premier League title.
City picked up a superb 4-1 victory over the reigning champions last weekend to extend their advantage to 10 points with a game in-hand.
Manchester United are in second-place, five points behind their neighbours, but have also played a game more.
Guardiola 's side have established themselves as huge favourites to reclaim the top-flight title, with their relentless recent form taking the league by storm.
Wenger, who won three Premier League titles during his decorated spell as Arsenal boss, has backed City to get their hands on the trophy this season and has completely ruled Liverpool out of the challenge.
Speaking to beIN SPORTS, the former Gunners manager said: "No, I don't think so (Liverpool are still in the title race).
"Man City is 10 points ahead, has one game in-hand, they look to be on a run and I don't think with 14 games to go, you can catch 13 points against a top team.
"I never seen it, 13 points. If it was eight to nine, yes, but if Man City win their game in-hand, 13 points - it's impossible."
City are back in Premier League action this evening as they look to get revenge on Tottenham Hotspur for the defeat they suffered earlier in the campaign.
The Manchester club lost 2-0 in north London with Son Heung-min and Giovani Lo Celso both scoring either side of half time for Jose Mourinho's side in the capital.
However, since that defeat to Spurs in November, Guardiola's team have not lost in the Premier League, with the reverse fixture currently looking like a season-defining moment for the league leaders.
