Arsene Wenger delivers Jack Grealish verdict amid £100m Arsenal transfer links

Arsene Wenger has issued his verdict on Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish, amid consistent links with a mega-money transfer to Arsenal.

The England international has been in sensational form for Villa this season, scoring six goals and contributing 10 assists in the Premier League, as well as making an impression on the international stage.

Grealish also has a close friendship with Arsenal starlet Bukayo Saka, which fans have picked up on - and they have regularly clamoured for Mikel Arteta's side to secure a huge transfer.

Tied down with his boyhood club until 2025 following a five-year contract extension in September, it would likely command a fee greater than the £72m spent on Nicolas Pepe to lure the 25-year-old to the Emirates Stadium.

However, Wenger has now given his seal of approval towards a transfer after issuing his verdict on Grealish during his recent punditry duties.

"I like Grealish as well because Grealish masters low and quick, can dribble, his composure. He's very creative in his passing," he told BeIN Sports.

Wenger's verdict come off the back of comments from Piers Morgan and Harry Redknapp earlier this year, who called for the Gunners to splash £100m on Grealish.

"I think they have to spend," Redknapp said to Morgan while speaking on the Harry Redknapp Show. "They are way off it, at the moment. They need to bring a bit of quality.

"Arsenal is a massive football club – take a Grealish. He needs to play at the bigger club."
