Arsenal fans won't be happy! Arsene Wenger compares Tottenham to Man Utd's 'Class of 92'

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has compared the current Tottenham team to Manchester United's all-conquering 'Class of 92' side.

United's legendary youth side which won the FA Youth Cup in 1992 included the likes of David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Neville brothers Gary and Phil and Nicky Butt who went on to dominate English football in the late 90s and early 2000s.

Tottenham's young side produced another landmark win on Wednesday as they swept Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund aside in a 3-0 win.

Wenger feels there is a comparison with Sir Alex Ferguson's homegrown core and Mauricio Pochettino's current crop of talent.

"I am an Arsenal fan so it is a bit of a sensitive subject for me but what I want to say is that they have the generations of young players," Wenger said while a pundit for beIN Sports.

"They look like the Manchester United generation of Giggs, Scholes, Butt, Beckham and Neville. They made it to the complete top.

"You feel there is something there at Tottenham but they have not shown the maturity in the decisive moments to get there.

"That is the target now to come to maturity in the next two to three years and show that."
