Arsene Wenger calls Anfield 'the most heated ground in Europe' after Liverpool's historic Barcelona result

Arsene Wenger may be the only person not surprised by Liverpool's stunning comeback against Barcelona, for one simple reason: Anfield.

Facing a 3-0 deficit from the first leg, Liverpool were as long as 120/1 with bookmakers to claim the 4-0 win needed to reach back-to-back Champions League finals.

However, Divock Origi's two goals - either side of a brace from supersub Georginio Wijnaldum - sealed just that in what has been dubbed Anfield's greatest European night .

The result comes 13 months after Barcelona let a 4-1 first-leg lead slip against Roma, who went on to lose to Liverpool at their famous ground in the semi-final stage.

"In Europe they do well. Why? Anfield," the former Arsenal manager told beIN Sport.

Henderson: Fans gave us an extra boost in Barcelona win

"[For a] home game, this is the most heated stadium in Europe in a return game. It is the only place you don't want to go.

"The atmosphere - everything - is special there."

Liverpool next welcome Wolves to Anfield looking for the win - and dropped points by Manchester City - to seal a first ever Premier League title.
