Arsenal youngster Daniel Ballard attracting Championship interest

Millwall and QPR are among several Championship clubs interested in signing Arsenal defender Daniel Ballard.

Ballard, who excelled on loan at Millwall last season, can leave Arsenal permanently this summer if the right offer is made.

Interest is already high in the 22-year-old, who is a senior Northern Ireland international and had a good loan at Blackpool during the 2020-21 season.

Millwall would love to keep hold of Ballard, but they face competition from several Championship clubs and overseas sides too.

QPR are fans of the centre-back, but they are not alone as Burnley, Cardiff, Sheffield United and Stoke are some of those who have scouted him this season.

Arsenal are now braced for bids for Ballard, who they have agreed to listen to offers for so he can get regular first-team football.

The Gunners, however, are planning to include a first-option or buyback clause in any deal involving the youngster as they plan to keep close tabs on his progression.
