Arsenal yet to make Martin Odegaard move as Cristiano Ronaldo prediction proven right

Here are your Arsenal morning headlines for Tuesday, March 23.

Gunners yet to make Odegaard move

Arsenal are yet to make a permanent move for Martin Odegaard.

The Gunners have been very impressed with what they have seen from the Real Madrid midfielder since his loan move to the Gunners in January.

But according to The Athletic, they haven't spoken to Los Blancos over a potential permanent move, still concentrating on finishing the season.

Real Madrid are likely to play hardball over a potential permanent deal, convinced Odegaard will play a significant part going forward and with the midfielder having a £301million release clause.

King helped Odegaard decide on Arsenal

Arsenal have a Premier League rival to thank for the signing of Odegaard.

The loan signing could be pivotal to Arsenal's season as they look to battle their way towards the European places, but it might not have been that way if it wasn't for Everton star Joshua King.

King, who plays with Odegaard for Norway, actually told the midfielder to join Arsenal when he heard of the rumours, he has revealed during international duty.

King told NRK: “When I saw the rumour about Arsenal, I sent him a message and said: 'You have to go to Arsenal.'

“He replied, 'Are you sure? Are you sure?' – I was so sure. Arsenal’s style of play and Martin… I have friends who have played for Arsenal, and I know a little how the club is.

"In my head, I think it suited him well.”

Ronaldo's Odegaard prediction

Arsenal fans are beginning to see what Cristiano Ronaldo saw in Odegaard six years ago.

Following his "incredible" performance as the Gunners came from 3-0 down to earn a point against West Ham United on Sunday afternoon, it's safe to say Odegaard is beginning to fulfil his potential.

Just like a certain Mr. Cristiano Ronaldo predicted after the pair trained together at Real Madrid for the first time in 2014.

"Great player, I think he's a young boy, he can still grow. He's 16 years old, right? So he has a good future ahead," Ronaldo said. "We must give him time to learn, to take his best decisions.

"But I see a lot of potential in the player, good left foot."
