Arsenal XI vs Liverpool: Predicted line-up, team news and injury list for Carabao Cup match

As he has throughout his reign as Arsenal head coach, Unai Emery is expected to rotate his squad for this Carabao Cup clash with Liverpool.

It means senior players such as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Granit Xhaka will be the rested for the trip to Anfield ahead of Saturday’s match with Wolves.

Xhaka was always likely to be rested but, given the weekend’s events against Crystal Palace, it is perhaps ideal timing to take him out of the firing line.

At the back, Emiliano Martinez should return in goal and ahead of him Hector Bellerin and Rob Holding will hope to get more minutes under their belt.

Emery will likely go with a midfield of Joe Willock and Lucas Torreira, but it is ahead of them where there is debate.

Emery has the chance to recall Mesut Ozil for this tie, however that seems unlikely given how out of favour the German is.

Instead Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Bukayo Saka could start out wide, with Emile Smith Rowe playing as the No10 off Gabriel Martinelli.

Arsenal (4-2-3-1): Martinez; Bellerin, Holding, Mustafi, Kolasinac; Willock, Torreira; Maitland-Niles, Smith Rowe, Saka; Martinelli.
