Arsenal XI vs Burnley: Starting lineup, team news, injury and Covid latest for Premier League today

Mikel Arteta names almost an unchanged side for Arsenal’s clash with Burnley on Sunday.

The Gunners were beaten 2-0 by Liverpool on Thursday as they crashed out of the Carabao Cup but their starting XI came through it unscathed.

Arsenal will have to contend without Thomas Partey, who was sent off for two yellow cards after coming on as a substitute.

Fellow midfielder Granit Xhaka is also suspended, while Mohamed Elneny is away at the Africa Cup of Nations.

That means Albert Sambi Lokonga will once again be charged with having to be the main man in the middle of the park. Rob Holding comes into the side.

“We have to go day by day,” said Arteta. “There are different reasons why they are not here with us and I will assess it.

“The thing is they all want to be involved as quickly as possible but some of them couldn’t be here and hopefully, we haven’t lost anybody else today for Sunday.”

Arsenal likely XI: Ramsdale; White, Holding, Gabriel, Tierney; Smith Rowe, Lokonga, Odegaard; Saka, Lacazette, Martinelli.

Sunday 2.00pm GMT

Venue: Emirates Stadium

Referee: David Coote

Arsenal squad from: Leno, Ramsdale, Okonkwo; Cedric, Chambers, Gabriel, Holding, Mari, Tavares, Tierney, Tomiyasu, White; Lokonga, Odegaard, Patino, Saka, Smith Rowe; Aubameyang, Lacazette, Martinelli and Nketiah.

Doubts: Aubameyang, Chambers (neck), Cedric (hip), Leno (back)

Suspended: Partey and Xhaka

Unavailable: Elneny (AFCON) and Pepe (AFCON)
