Arsenal youngster Tyreece John-Jules has revealed his three main targets ahead of the new season.
The teenager netted twice for an Gunners XI in a pre-season friendly against Boreham Wood at the weekend, with his brace helping to claw back a 3-1 half-time deficit.
One of the most promising youngsters on the books at the Emirates Stadium, John-Jules is out of contract at the end of next season and has been linked with a summer transfer to Paris Saint-Germain as well as Monaco .
Talks have been ongoing for some time to ensure that he - and Xavier Amaechi - doesn't leave on a free.
But progress has been slow, meaning the Gunners face a major battle to convince the striker that his best chances of first-team football remains in north London.
However, it would appear that the 18-year-old is staying put as he's revealed one of his three main targets for the new season is to break into Unai Emery's first-team.
"Stay injury free and keep my fitness up and hopefully get a chance in the first team, and if I do, take it," he told Arsenal.com when asked what his targets are for the season.
"Hopefully I can make my competitive debut this season and be a strong part of the under-23s team and then kick on."
John-Jules took part in the mid-season friendly against Al-Nasr in Dubai, getting on the scoresheet and is expected to be included in the squad that travels to the United States for four pre-season friendlies in the coming week.
It's understood that Emery is an admirer of John-Jules, while new assistant first-team coach Freddie Ljungberg worked closely with the striker last season.
Although he does face a huge battle for many first-team chances next season given that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are still at the club.
With that said, John-Jules could get some opportunities in the cup competitions as well as the Europa League.
