Catalin Cirjan is set to continue an Arsenal tradition.
In recent seasons, the likes of Bukayo Saka, Eddie Nketiah, Joe Willock, and Emile Smith Rowe have all been promoted from the U23's to the first-team.
Before those academy graduates were Jack Wilshere, Alex Iwobi and Ainsley Maitland-Niles just to name a few.
And it would appear that Cirjan has followed in their footsteps after catching the eye of Arsenal first-team manager Mikel Arteta with one goal and two assists in six Premier League 2 appearances for the under-23s, plus a goal for the under-21s against Gillingham in the EFL Trophy.
The attacking midfielder's agent, Catalin Sarmasan, confirmed Cirjan's promotion on Twitter.
"Happy to confirm Catalin Cirjan is now officially part of Arsenal's first-team squad," he wrote. "He's got a fantastic progress ahead of him.
"He'll work hard and achieve his dreams!
"Good luck, Cata! I'm proud of you!"
Cirjan was one of five Arsenal wonderkids called up by Arteta for Monday's first-team training session ahead of the Carabao Cup quarter-final tie against Manchester City.
And it's from that session which the teenager has used an image to celebrate his promotion.
Taking to social media after training with the likes of Granit Xhaka, Alexandre Lacazette, Willian and Gabriel Magalhaes, Cirjan issued a two-word message.
"First-team," he wrote on Instagram with an hourglass emoji.
It remains to be seen if Cirjan can celebrate his promotion with a place in the matchday squad for the game against Man City.
When discussing the team he could pick, Arteta did hint at going as strong as possible.
"Let's see how the boys are today. Auba is not fit for tomorrow, that's for sure. He won't be playing tomorrow so we will see who is available because we have a few doubts as well in other positions," the Spaniard said in his pre-match press conference.
"We want to get together a very competitive team because we know the level of City and we want to win the game tomorrow."
